Energy StarRemington Custom Homes is a proud 100% partner of the EPA backed Energy Star Program!

So what does this mean, and why should you invest in a home that earns the Energy Star label?

Homes that earn the Energy Star label must perform at least 15% better than homes that meet the 2004 International Residential Code. At Remington Custom Homes, we strive to produce homes that are at least 50% better than the 2004 IRC. This means that our homes provide significantly better quality, increased homeowner comfort, and most importantly, lower energy costs!

Many steps must be taken to earn the Energy Star label. Every home is analyzed by an accredited rater to make sure that it will meet the requirements. Then every step during construction is tweaked to provide maximum energy savings. These improvements include:

Advanced Framing

Advanced Framing techniques and materials are used to ensure that insulation works to its maximum potential.

Insulation

Insulation is inspected by a third party rater to make sure it complies with energy star standards.

HVAC

HVAC equipment is more efficient, and all ducts are more heavily insulated than required by the 2004 IRC.

Testing

Testing performed by a third party rater verifies that every home meets or exceeds requirements for air leakage and duct tightness.
